What a complete building permit package actually needs
Most permit delays are not about the design. They are about missing or uncoordinated documents. Here is what reviewers look for.
When a permit application sits for weeks, the cause is rarely the design itself. It is usually a submission that references engineering that is not there, drawings that disagree with each other, or a response to comments that answers half the question.
The documents, in one set
Architectural drawings, mechanical and plumbing documentation, electrical layouts and any structural review the scope requires should be prepared as one coordinated package. When the disciplines come from one team, the drawings agree with each other and the reviewer can follow the project from plan to detail.
Answer the comment, not the topic
Review comments are specific. The fastest resubmissions respond point by point, on the drawings and in writing, with the revised sheets clearly marked.
